A Little Bit About Us:

As many of our customers already know, we are a family business founded in 1983 by Norman Townsend with his son Peter Townsend under the name Shirley Hardware & Carpets. 

As it's name suggests, when we first started trading, we sold both hardware and carpets, but the demand for carpets increased to such a level that we decided to consentrate solely on this side of the business, becoming Shirley Carpet Centre around 1985

We work with our customers to provide them with the right flooring for their needs along with friendly quality service.  Because of that we that we have never found the need for regular advertising, our business growing mainly by word of mouth and recommendations.   

The face of Shirley has changed greatly during the time we have been here and whilst we like to keep up with the evolving carpet market, we are proud to say that we have not changed our aim - to give our customers our best personal service, with the best products and at the best prices that we can.
